Wild Paws Forum: Native Pollinators & Bats

Wild Paws will be hosting an evening of discussion on native pollinators, bee-friendly plants, and the importance of our midwest bat species. Pollinators are critically important to our ecosystem and we already learned how we can look out for them in the winter months, but spring is here! What can we learn from bats and pollinators such as bees and butterflies and how can we help them thrive?

Special guest speakers include Taylor Heid and Addie Evans:

Taylor Heid is a graduate of Minnesota State University, Mankato where she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology and started a Bee Friendly Campus initiative. She currently contributes to writing the Wild Paws Blog and has worked with animals her whole life. She will be speaking on the importance of pollinators to... the environment and us, along with discussing the bee crisis and what we can do to help native pollinators.

Addie Evans, Lead Certified Veterinary Technician and Clinic Manager of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota, will present "The Importance of Minnesota Bats". She will be discussing our Minnesota native bat species, what threatens our bat populations, why we should care about bats from Minnesota and other bat species around the world, and how to "attract" bats with the appropriate bat houses.
